Rate: £18-22 per hour (depending on experience & qualification)
Contract Type: Temporary 6 – 12 months contract

Job Purpose
The Facilities Officer will be responsible for managing and maintaining the operational aspects of commercial buildings and facilities. This role ensures the efficient and safe functioning of premises while delivering high standards of service to employees and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Facilities Management
Oversee day-to-day maintenance and operation of government buildings.
Coordinate with contractors for repairs, cleaning, and maintenance services.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting regular inspections and audits.
Asset Management
Maintain records of assets and inventory.
Manage energy consumption and implement cost-saving initiatives.
Operational Support
Respond to and resolve facility-related issues reported by staff.
Monitor and manage budgets for building maintenance and upgrades.
Health and Safety
Ensure fire safety equipment is tested and evacuation procedures are in place.
Conduct risk assessments and recommend actions to mitigate hazards.
Sustainability Initiatives
Support environmental strategies, including recycling and waste reduction programs. Essential Criteria
Proven experience in facilities or property management.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance standards.
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in using facilities management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Desirable Qualifications
IOSH or NEBOSH certification.
Experience in a government or public-sector environment.
Familiarity with procurement and contract management. Personal Attributes
