About the role · Manage day-to-day maintenance activities across the Lumis Living Leicester site, ensuring the property remains in top condition. · Perform regular inspections of all equipment, communal areas, and student rooms to identify and address any maintenance issues. · Supervise and coordinate timely repairs, ensuring that all issues are addressed efficiently and safely. · Liaise with external contractors for specialised repairs, ensuring they adhere to timelines, safety regulations, and quality standards. · Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and minimize repair costs. · Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations, including fire safety and building codes. · Manage inventory levels of tools, equipment, and spare parts, ensuring stock is available for emergency repairs. · Identify and implement energy-saving initiatives to reduce operational costs and improve sustainability at the site. · Lead and train a small team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure work is carried out to the highest standards. · Be available for on-call emergencies and urgent repairs, ensuring minimal disruption to residents. About you · Proven experience as a Maintenance Supervisor or similar role in facilities management. · Strong knowledge of building systems, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC. · Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues quickly and efficiently. · Experience managing a team and coordinating with external contractors. · Excellent organizational and time-management skills. · Familiarity with health and safety regulations, particularly related to building maintenance. · Strong communication skills to interact effectively with residents and staff. · Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations. · Basic IT skills for managing maintenance logs and schedules. · A qualification in a related field (e.g., Electrical, Plumbing, Facilities Management) is an advantage.
