Manufacturing Automation Engineer - Manufacturing Systems Witney cGBP50,000pa plus cGBP4k bonus & bens:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Automation Engineer to join a well-established specialist manufacturer in the Witney area. With growth plans to scale their GBP100m turnover business to over GBP200m over the next 5 years, this role is a key component to ensure that their targets are met by driving continuous improvement across automation machinery, in particular, PLCs, Robotics and Hydraulics as well as implementing new factory machinery and processes.
The Manufacturing Automation Engineer will form part of a small team whose remit is to deliver continuous improvement and machinery projects into production. The projects you will manage could cost anywhere from GBP100k - GBP1m in value and you will be managing multiple continuous improvement and machinery projects at any given time. The key technology you will need experience with is Automation systems, PLCs, Robotics and Hydraulics.
The successful Manufacturing Automation Engineer will need the following experience and skills:
1. Ideally Engineering qualified, either via an Apprenticeship, HNC/HND, or Degree.
2. Minimum 2 years in a production engineering role.
3. Experience of working with a high-volume manufacturing area with complex products.
4. Experience with Automation systems, PLCs, Robotics and Hydraulics.
5. Proven track record of working with internal teams to ensure that production and quality targets are met.
6. Proven people management skills, with the ability to develop others through coaching and support.
7. Ability to create engineering designs using CAD.
8. Computer-literate, being fully conversant with MS Excel, Word, Project, Power Point.
Desirable:
1. Experience of designing and implementing a factory or production line.
2. Experience of ERP systems including BOMs.
3. Practical experience in being part of a NPI process or team.
4. Knowledge of Quality Management Systems ISO.
5. Experience of programming CNC machine tools or PLC systems or Industrial Robots.
