Community Protection Officer - Ref: EE13224 G8: £36,124 - £40,476 per annum. Community Protection are a hard working, responsive front line service who protect the communities and environment of Walsall from harm. This role includes targeting those causing anti social behaviour and neighbour nuisance, fly tippers and litterers, people causing highways obstructions and environmental harm. There will also be opportunity to work on unauthorised encampments and deal with the licensed trade and taxi trade to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The team work closely with partners such as the police, social landlords and other internal departments to target resources and legal powers to maximum effect. The candidate should have experience or the ability to work in a busy front-line enforcement team. You will carry a high workload of reactive cases whilst also contributing to proactive initiatives aimed at reducing demand and improving the environment and quality of life for the communities of Walsall. The candidate will be expected to mediate and negotiate positive outcomes to cases and initiate legal proceedings through warning letters, fixed penalty notices, statutory notices and court cases where the worst offences are being dealt with. The post holder should have a methodical approach to work, an attention for detail but be able to manage their time in order to keep the workload moving often at pace.
