Our client, a leading contractor within the water sector, is seeking a skilled Commercial Manager to oversee key water projects in the Thames Water region.
Responsibilities: Lead the commercial management of infrastructure projects, ensuring financial control, profitability, and risk management from project inception to completion.
Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cash flows, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Oversee contract management, including negotiating terms, managing variations, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
Liaise with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure commercial alignment and smooth project execution.
Manage subcontractor relationships, ensuring that agreements are met and performance standards are maintained.
Provide commercial insights to senior management, preparing reports, risk assessments, and financial updates.
Ensure that all projects meet industry regulations, client expectations, and contractual requirements.
Identify and mitigate commercial risks, while seizing opportunities to maximise project value.
Support the procurement process by evaluating supplier bids and negotiating contracts where necessary.
Requirements: Proven experience as a Commercial Manager, ideally within the construction or infrastructure sectors.
Strong understanding of contract law, financial management, and commercial risk assessment.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Relevant qualifications in commercial management, quantity surveying, or a related field (e.g., RICS, MRICS).
Experience working within the water sector or on infrastructure projects is advantageous.
