JOB PURPOSE
To provide administration support to solicitor, legal assistant, and team in areas of law related to Family/Public Law. You will be a skilled administrator or someone with relevant skills looking to get their first role within a Law Firm.
KEY TASKS
1. To provide efficient and cost-effective admin legal support to team members.
2. To open and close files on the firm's case management system, ensuring accuracy at all times.
3. To provide an efficient and organised mode of working and ensure all key dates are recorded on the firm's case management diary system and fee earners diary.
4. To record billable hours on behalf of fee earners and chase fee earners for up-to-date timesheets to ensure we do not fall behind.
5. To check all letters sent off-site for transcribing to ensure they are accurate, and parties' names are checked before the document is reviewed by the fee earner.
6. Identify experts from the firm's Expert Register, obtain quotations, and secure relevant funding for the same.
ACTIVITIES
1. Ability to manage fee earners' diaries and ensure key dates are not missed.
2. Ability to provide a full range of admin support to include, but not limited to, preparing bundles, scanning documents, checking transcribed letters, and formatting the same.
3. Saving emails and documents onto the firm's case management system in an organised manner for efficient identification.
4. Checking the LAA portal to ensure all notifications are dealt with.
5. Time recording for fee earners as required.
6. Saving and recording key dates of any Court Orders received.
7. To work as part of a team with Partners, Solicitors, Fee Earners, other Trainees, and Support Staff as appropriate.
8. To provide a professional proactive approach, excellent client care skills, and the ability to deal with client matters sensitively, particularly with vulnerable clients and complex issues in Private Family Law and Public Law.
9. To maintain confidentiality and compliance with the Data Protection Act and GDPR.
10. To uphold the highest standards of client care with an emphasis on courtesy, friendliness, honesty, and helpfulness towards fellow staff members, the public, and external agencies.
11. Excellent IT skills, familiar with Microsoft Office applications and document management skills.
