ABOUT THE POSITION
To assist the Purchasing Director and Manager as directed to accomplish the workload needed to support the company’s sales effort effectively and efficiently, while maintaining budgeted goals set by management.
Candidates must be available to work a hybrid work schedule from 9:00am to 6:00pm, Monday through Friday.
Essential Responsibilities
* Prepares all price change notifications for presentation to management for approval.
* Runs weekly overdue purchase order reports, requests updates, and then updates our system with the new information.
* Consolidates all purchase orders and submits them to our vendor partners.
* Confirms all purchase orders and communicates to the buying team her findings.
* Posts product updates in Teams per the buyer’s approval.
* Requests product information from our Vendor Partners.
* Communicates issues or concerns to our vendor community as directed by the buying team.
Qualifications and Experience
* Associates Degree in Business or Logistics, Bachelor’s preferred.
* Experience in a wholesale distribution purchasing environment.
* Experience in the Veterinary industry is a plus.
* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and computer skills are required.
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, customer orders, packing, and shipping instructions.
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; well organized.
* Excellent math skills.
* Ability to organize one’s own activities and manage multiple priorities independently while also working as an active member of a team.
* Proficient in the use of computers as well as MS Office Suite.
* Ability to perform work-related tasks while working remotely.
* Ability to work efficiently without direct supervision when working remotely.
