You will be expected to work autonomously within guidelines and the sphere of professional practice to implement individualised midwifery care in partnership with the women in your designated caseload. You will provide intrapartum care to women requesting home birth and will maintain your intrapartum skills via regular structured updates on the main Labour Ward. You will be able to provide continuity throughout the antenatal and postnatal period; whilst ensuring the woman's physical, psychological, emotional and social needs are holistically cared for. Effective multi-disciplinary working is essential and midwives are expected to communicate effectively to guarantee appropriate, safe care is delivered.
