About the role
Learner Services Officer
Bury Council’s Adult Learning Service is seeking to recruit a Learner Services Officer. Promoting adult learning is at the heart of Bury’s LET’S Do It! 2030 Strategy, which is an ambitious vision for delivering inclusive economic growth and reducing the levels of deprivation across the borough.
Joining the Learning Support team will give you the opportunity to develop and deliver Information, Advice and Guidance services to Bury residents in supporting their journey into learning or work. This will include undertaking initial screening/initial assessments to identify skills development and support needs providing a learning pathway to success. You will have responsibility of managing the Learner Support Fund to support learners in financial hardship. You will undertake promotional and referral activities by supporting individuals and engaging with external partners.
We are looking for someone with experience of delivering information, advice and guidance and developing effective action plans which support people to achieve their goals.
The ideal candidate will embody our LET’S Do It! values and will support putting learners at the centre of sharing in the success of our exciting plans to deliver excellent adult education for all the communities of our borough.
The post is for 37 hours per week based at the Adult Learning Centre in Bury but working flexibly to meet Service demands.
