Job overview
This is an exciting opportunity for suitably skilled, committed and enthusiastic Registered Learning Disability Nurses to join a well-established Learning Disability Service.
As part of a fully integrated Health & Social Care Team, you will be committed to achieving high quality health and social care outcomes for people with learning disabilities in Salford. The team promotes the health, independence and well-being of adults with learning disabilities and their carers through an integrated approach to assessment and support, working in close partnership with professionals from other disciplines.
You will have a passionate and supportive team behind you. From your induction and throughout your time here, you’ll enjoy formal and informal supervision, support and development – from both managers and your colleagues.
Main duties of the job
* You will have a genuine commitment to partnership working and be a strong team player working flexibly with a “can do” attitude.
* You will have a varied caseload of work to reflect the diversity of the local community.
* You will liaise closely with all members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure you achieve the best outcomes for the individual, their families and their carers.
* You will be adaptable in your approach and utilise effective communication skills & tools to promote person-centred practice.
* You will work independently but under the direction and supervision of senior staff to complete high quality, holistic assessments across a range of community settings.

Qualifications
* Current Registration with NMC as RNLD.
Knowledge
* Evidence of CPD related to role.
Experience
* Experience of working with adults with Learning Disabilities and their families.
* Demonstrate working on own initiative.
* Evidence of providing guidance to others including families and staff teams.
* Assessment and support planning.
* Developing positive relationships with people, families and other professionals.
* Experience of training others including presentations.
Skills
* Ability to disseminate sensitive and complex information to people and families.
* Excellent communication skills including oral and written.
