Our Children's Social Care Commissioning team have a focus on ensuring children and young people have access to support to meet their needs, and provided with the opportunity to achieve their potential.
You will focus on ensuring, and facilitating that, appropriate provision can be accessed by children and young people who have been assessed as requiring additional support. This is a fast moving area of work.
This is an exciting opportunity for you to develop the role and take forward this growing area of work within the commissioning team.

This is initially a 12 month fixed term post.
Main Responsibilities
You will focus on ensuring those children who have been assessed as requiring additional support have provision to meet their needs.
You will be:
* liaising with a range of practitioners and professionals to source and put in place support packages which meet individual needs of our young people.
* quality assurance of referrals for provision.
* overseeing block contracts with providers.
* promoting support services to colleagues across children’s services.
* supporting the Commissioning Officer.
The Ideal Candidate
You will have:
* NVQ3 or equivalent qualification or the relevant work experience.
* An understanding of relevant legislation for Children and Families/social care Services.
* Experience of liaising with, training and providing advice to a wide range of professionals.
* Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in partnership with a broad range of professionals.
