Scot JCB are looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join our team in Glasgow on a 12-month contract, covering a period of maternity leave.
Working as part of a busy team, you will play a key role in managing our debtors across a network of 16 depots.
We are looking for a proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has strong communication and negotiation skills. You will have experience working in credit control or related accounts experience.
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8.30am - 5pm, based at our Glasgow office
Salary: Dependant on experience

This role involves:
1. Collecting debts by telephone, letter or email to ensure customers adhere to agreed terms
2. Investigating disputed items and ensuring these are followed up by the relevant department
3. Maintaining records of unresolved disputes and highlighting these to senior management
4. Managing problem accounts through targeted use of credit limits, suspension of credit, and liaison with external agencies
5. Collating cash and cheques for banking and posting all receipts on the computer system
6. Ensuring the accuracy of the computer system by reconciling accounts, recording activities and follow-up actions
7. Updating customer details and opening new accounts
8. Providing a professional service to both customers and employees
The ideal candidate will have:
1. Experience of working in credit control or a related accounts department
2. Experience of working in a busy office environment
3. Experience in Microsoft Office applications with strong Excel skills
4. Excellent attention to detail and time management
5. Ability to work to strict deadlines
6. Strong verbal and written communication skills
7. Analysis of information to support decision making
8. Keen to achieve results
9. Proven accounting and reporting experience
10. Good team spirit, able to work well with colleagues at all levels in the business
