About You
This role will appeal to a pensions professional who brings the ability to enhance and support the ongoing development of our success, with a strong focus on client management and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service at all times.
We are looking for a self-motivated person who is eager to work hard and make a meaningful impact. With strong industry and technical knowledge, the ideal candidate will understand the importance of building and maintaining relationships with clients, while collaborating with colleagues to grow a network of industry contacts.
The successful candidate should be capable of working both independently and collaboratively across a multi-site business to ensure timely, high-quality service delivery. They will bring the drive and ambition to meet targets for chargeable hours, exceed expectations of colleagues and clients, and contribute to the continuous improvement and expansion of our services.
We expect this individual to grow into an experienced professional trustee, and we will provide the necessary training and support to help them succeed in this path. Over time, they will also be encouraged to develop their own network of industry connections.
Responsibilities & Criteria
* Extensive experience as a pension professional in defined benefit pension schemes, capable of managing a portfolio of schemes through business-as-usual activity while ensuring service delivery is consistently maintained to a high standard.
* A deep understanding of pension scheme governance and regulatory requirements, including TPR’s role and powers.
* Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships within internal teams and with external stakeholders.
* Highly organised, with the capability to manage multiple priorities and deliver projects within deadlines.
* Proactive in identifying and mitigating scheme risks.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts in simplified terms.
* Experience in business development and market engagement, skilled at confidently representing organisations at networking events.
* Adept at leading and mentoring junior colleagues to excel in their roles and perform at their best.
Desirable Criteria
* Degree-qualified, ideally with a relevant professional certification.
* Completion of the Trustee Toolkit.
* Strong understanding of risk settlement transactions and the oversight of pension scheme winding-up processes.

Circumstances
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week. Location: London or Manchester (Hybrid 2 Days in office).

The role holder may be required to work across the United Kingdom and may be expected at times to travel.
There is a six-month probationary period from commencement of employment. During this time, you will be expected to regularly attend the office so that we can provide focused training. Once probation has been completed you will be expected to attend the office at least two days a week.
As part of the pre-hire process the successful candidate will be subject to reference checking security vetting.
