Homes for Students is one of the UK's leading providers of student accommodation. We currently have a vacancy for a Caretaker at our Onyx property in Birmingham working 20 hours per week, 9.00am to 1.00pm Monday to Friday. General duties will include but not be limited to: Painting Unblocking drains Fixing taps Changing lightbulbs Litter picking the perimeter The postholder will be responsible for driving a high-quality customer experience in relation to the speed and quality of the service provided to reported faults and the general condition, state and repair of the property. Person Specification: • Previous experience of Property maintenance within a similar environment, or experienced and qualified in a trade with the ability to work across a number of trade disciplines to a reasonable standard. • Awareness of Health and Safety issues and legal requirements. • Excellent customer care skills with the ability to report outstanding actions and to keep individuals informed of progress. • Excellent organisation, communication and interpersonal skills. • Experience of prioritising workload to meet competing deadlines without close supervision. • To be proactive in approach, with the ability to use initiative and resolve issues or problems quickly and effectively. • Ability to work in a team and have a flexible approach to work.
