Job Description The SDA will, in collaboration with the Project Engineering Lead and Programme Manager, deliver the CSC SSTD programme. As the CSC SSTD SDA you will be responsible for governance of the project outputs, ensuring they are compliant with the customer requirements, safe, environmental conscious and legislatively compliant. The duties of the role will include representing the UM technically at customer meetings and during internal reviews. Line management of the role will be provided by the Discipline and the Chief Engineer Torpedo Defence will provide technical guidance and oversight. This is a Senior Principal or Principal level role suitable for someone with a sonar background… An appreciation of Sonar Systems/Torpedo Countermeasures design - including deployment, operation, integration, and safety. Design experience in one of the following engineering disciplines and an understanding of the others: Systems, Electronics, Mechanical or Software. This role requires eligibility for Security Check (SC) clearance (ideally with no caveats). We have three sites: Greenford, Loudwater and Weymouth. This is a hybrid role giving you the flexibility to balance working from home and being on-site as necessary, with some UK and international travel. To be successful in the is role you are likely to need to be regularly on site at Weymouth or Greenford e.g. a couple of days per week. There will be a two-stage interview process. The first will be with the Torpedo Defence Chief Engineer and an SDA, and the second will be with the SSTD Programme Director or Engineering Manager and the Head of discipline. The first will cover the role and technical suitability and the second will focus more on leadership and business/team fit. Typically, a Bachelor Degree (or equivalent) in a related field and experience in a range of roles within a relevant complex engineering environment. May be required to maintain security clearance.
