GMP Recruitment are proud to partner a successful and highly recognisable manufacturing company located in Gloucester. We are recruiting on their behalf for an experienced Deburring Operative to join their team on a full time, permanent contract.
This is a full time, permanent position working Monday – Thursday 07:30am – 16:00pm and an earlier finish of 15:00pm on Friday.
For all the above requirements you will be offered a highly competitive basic hourly rate up to £13 per hour, which is demonstrable with previous, relevant experience, plus additional company benefits.
We are seeking a meticulous and skilled Deburr Operative to join our clients team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the finishing and deburring of precision-engineered components to meet the highest industry standards. This role is critical in ensuring the final product is free from imperfections, sharp edges, and burrs before delivery to clients.
Deburr Operative main duties:
* Deburr, clean, and finish machined components to exact specifications using hand tools, pneumatic tools, and other equipment.
* Inspect components for burrs, sharp edges, and other imperfections.
* Operate various deburring machines and tools, including grinders, polishers, and tumblers.
* Work from engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
* Perform quality checks to ensure finished components meet the required standards.
* Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
* Adhere to company health & safety policies and procedures.
* Work closely with machinists and quality inspectors to identify and resolve issues.
Deburr Operative desired skills and experience:
* Previous experience in deburring, polishing, or finishing precision components (preferably within an engineering or manufacturing environment).
* Knowledge of surface finishing techniques and treatments.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work to tight tolerances.
* Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
* Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
* A proactive and team-oriented mindset.
* Understanding of health and safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.
