Job responsibilities: Chronic disease management (manage at least one chronic disease area) Administering all immunisations including Influenza, Shingles, Pneumonia, MMR. All infant/child vaccinations following UK schedule/incomplete imms Venepuncture Travel consultations/advice and vaccinations IM Injections vitamin b12, Neuroleptic injections Hormone injections e.g. Zoladex/Prostap/Decapeptyl Depo injections (once initiated by GP) Pill checks Cervical Smears Treating/Packing/Dressing Wounds Leg Ulcer Compression Bandaging Suture/staple removal ECG's Dopplers Blood Pressure Management Learning Disability reviews Over 75 checks INR Warfarin monitoring Vaginal swabs/coil checks Assisting GPs with minor surgery and coil fittings Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to senior nurses or GPs as appropriate Maintaining and cleaning equipment used by the nurses and GPs Maintaining GP and Nurses rooms, stocking and rotating items as required Maintain general tidiness and cleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms Ordering of vaccinations to maintain stock levels Ensuring all required infection control measures are adhered to in line with practice policy Participation in administrative systems in the Practice A duty to advise senior nurses of potential problems or errors within the range of assigned tasks Writing and keeping patients records accurate and up to date All Bluestream Mandatory training up to date and certificates can be provided Involved in support and training of new clinical staff Attend and participate in any Practice meetings when required On occasion there may be a requirement to undertake home visits Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post Additional responsibilities: Infection Control lead
