JOB TITLE: GROUP FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT
DEPARTMENT: FINANCIAL REPORTING
LOCATION: Marble Arch (Hybrid – 3 days in the office)

THE ROLE
This is a key role within the Financial Reporting team, ensuring the smooth and efficient management of financial processes, with a strong focus on the Group’s net rental income. This includes the half-yearly external reporting process, internal quarterly reporting, annual statutory accounts and corporation tax returns, along with supporting the wider Group Finance team.
Additionally, the role will assist with the quarterly joint venture reporting process, focusing specifically on our Canada Water joint venture.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
In this role, you will gain excellent professional development through exposure to different elements of the Group Finance function and financial cycles, and have opportunities for attending in-house learning sessions providing insight and exposure to other aspects of the business:

* Reporting – responsible for day-to-day financial matters and reporting, including the Group’s net rental income and assist with the Canada Water joint venture.
* Stakeholder management – act as a key point of contact for internal and external joint venture partners and provide reliable insights into financial matters.
* Management information – prepare the financial elements of the quarterly joint venture board pack and internal Group reporting pack.
* Performance – prepare analysis of actual performance versus budget and forecast to provide insights to the Finance Business Partners and wider finance team.
* Cash management – close review of joint venture cash balances and funding requirements, and assist with the quarterly joint venture cash flow statement under the direct method.
* Funding – calculation of and accounting for the joint venture funding requirements and quarterly dividends/distributions to shareholders.
* Management accounts – assist with the preparation of joint venture management accounts, including the co-ordination of information from internal sources (Treasury, Tax etc.).
* Statutory accounts – prepare statutory accounts and coordinate stakeholder reviews within the Tax and Treasury teams, Company Directors and auditors.
* Covenant Reviews – perform assessments of financial covenants, evaluating the strength of new and existing customers.
* Ad-hoc – prepare analysis to assist management in understanding business performance and decision-making.
Required Skills
*
* Degree (2:1 or above) or equivalent qualification.
* Newly qualified Accountant (ICAEW or equivalent) with strong technical skills.
* Experience working in top accounting firms.
* Ability to work independently and solve problems.
* Ability to communicate confidently with accountants and non-accountants, managing a number of stakeholders, including senior members.
* Comfortable taking on ownership and responsibility, whilst being effective working collaboratively.
* Demonstrating commercial awareness.
* Comfortable working on a “big picture” or highly detailed basis; able to manage a portfolio of responsibilities, prioritise and meet tight deadlines.
* Confident analysing complex transactions and distilling into salient features.
* Experience with production of audit or statutory accounts.
* Ability to produce well thought through, clearly laid out and expressed schedules and papers.
* Excellent Excel and data analysis skills.
