The Role: We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Senior Policy Planner to join our team. You will be at the forefront of the Council’s ambitions for positive change, supporting the delivery of our new Local Development Plan and advancing the Council’s economic aims, as outlined in our Corporate Plan and Economic Strategy. These are key documents that will shape the Borough’s future. Key responsibilities: Lead the preparation and review of the Local Plan and other planning policy documents. Conduct research and analysis to inform policy development. Provide professional and technical advice on planning policy and legislation. Engage with stakeholders through consultations and public meetings. Prepare reports and recommendations for decision-making bodies. Manage projects, including setting objectives, organising resources and monitoring progress. About You: Strategic planning experience and a planning-related qualification. Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or eligibility for membership. Up-to-date knowledge of the Town and Country Planning system, national policy, guidance and legislation. Excellent communication skills, thoroughness, and organisational abilities. Self-motivated and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
