Job Title : Procurement Specialist Salary : £30,000 - £32,000 Location : Port Talbot Hours : 37.5 hours per week (8:30 - 16:30), full-time, on-site Overview : An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Specialist to join a well-established company in the manufacturing sector. If you have strong experience in procurement, particularly in a manufacturing environment, along with excellent negotiation and communication skills, this role could be ideal for you. You will play a key role in managing the procurement process and driving efficiencies within the supply chain. Key Responsibilities : Raising raw material purchase orders in line with ERP system requirements. Sending out RFQs (Request for Quotations) to suppliers and negotiating prices and delivery terms. Identifying opportunities for improvement within procurement and material functions, focusing on reducing stock levels, shortening supplier lead times, and improving stock availability. Participating in production meetings to ensure that material availability supports production requirements. Managing the sourcing process and ERP transactions to optimise internal efficiency and minimise costs. Working closely with suppliers and internal teams to resolve procurement-related issues or discrepancies. Key Skills and Experience : At least 3 to 5 years of experience in a procurement role within a manufacturing environment. Strong proficiency in IT, particularly with Excel and ERP systems. Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work effectively to tight deadlines and make informed decisions under pressure. A proactive, methodical, and organised approach to tasks. Strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on building and maintaining collaborative relationships. Excellent communication and teamwork skills within a manufacturing organisation. GCSEs in Maths and English (Grades A-C).
