This is a temporary contract role until the end of the year for an Executive Officer role with an immediate start date (Compliance dependant) for a Eight-month duration offering a hybrid work setting and a London location (Temple).

We are seeking contingent labour to cover EO administrative support supporting the Inquiry into the Issues Raised by the Lucy Letby Case on all aspects of its work. The small and flexible team works independently from Government and any other organisations

As a statutory inquiry, the Inquiry secretariat work independently from Government and any other organisations. The role offers a unique and challenging opportunity, contributing to all facets of the Inquiry's work. The work is complex and diverse, with scope to vary as the Inquiry progresses. As part of an agile and multi-disciplinary team, the successful candidate will be expected to adapt to the task in hand to support the overall delivery of the Inquiry.
Applicants should note the distressing subject matter at the heart of this Inquiry. We do not expect this role to include working with challenging materials directly and support is available to all members of the Inquiry secretariat.
The Inquiry Secretariat is based in London, with hearings being held in Liverpool from September 2024. The post holder can work remotely or from the Inquiry's office in London.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring the external inbox for the Inquiry's suppliers
- Carrying out key administrative tasks to support the work of the Inquiry, including onboarding suppliers, raising Purchase Orders, receipting invoices??
- Providing financial and programme management Support to Head of Operations to the Inquiry
- Ensuring value for money in all Inquiry activity
- Providing support to Secretariat team members and Secretary to the Inquiry
Key skills and experience required for the role:
- Strong delivery and organisational skills to ensure efficient processes are in place and followed and tasks are completed by deadline
- Close attention to detail, ensuring professionalism, accuracy and precision in all aspects of work
- Ability to work comfortably with numbers, with keen eye for identifying discrepancies and inconsistences
- Confidence to respond flexibly to deliver competing priorities
- Ability to work independently on projects and work collaboratively to solve problems.
