Main duties of the job We are excited to offer an apprenticeship post in our Child Health team. The team consists of all different specialities that support children needing short and and long term care. This post is varied in all aspects of hospital administration. The successful applicate will be working with admissions clerks and secretarial teams on a daily basis supporting in the day to day running of the admin to help support families in their journey through the specialist care offered in the Children's hospital. The apprenticeship will offer opportunities to shadow all teams across child health to help build knowledge and understanding of working within a hospital setting. Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities We are looking for someone that is ready to build an understanding in the general day to day administration that is carried out in the children's hospital offering support to undertake the general admin and clerical work that is carried out across all of child health. We are looking for someone that is wanting to develop their communications skills to be able to confidently action emails, receive telephone calls, responding efficiently and promptly to queries from a variety of sources. You will be working in a team and an ability to prioritise your working day with guidance from team members and line managers would be desirable. Person specification Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience Essential criteria Good standard of education with literacy and numeracy skills to GCSE pass level 4-9 Experience of working in a customer led environment Evidence of computer literacy Competent in the use of Microsoft Office packages Flexible – ability to work shifts that include evenings and Saturdays Desirable criteria Courses/further study attended to demonstrate evidence of personal development NVQ 2 diploma or equivalent Experience of working shifts Call handling experience Proficient in the use of hospital computerised patient systems Values & Behaviours Essential criteria Patients First Always Improving Working Together
