Join a global Aviation company based in Dyce, Aberdeen as a Safety and Compliance Manager. This is a permanent staff position where the successful candidate will be implementing and monitoring policies and procedures to meet regulatory requirements. Some occasional travel is required as part of the role.
This is a regional, vitally important role for maintaining and continuously improving the company’s compliance across the multi-discipline areas of aviation regulation, health, safety, and environmental performance.
Main duties and responsibilities:
* Implementing and supporting a programme of monitoring and auditing (Aviation Management Systems) to provide a high level of safety and compliance assurance.
* Monitoring and enhancing the aviation management system (MS).
* Ensuring appropriate actions are undertaken for identifying, reporting, and correcting safety issues and for the initiation and monitoring of preventive action measures to support continuous safety improvement.
* Reviewing and reporting on compliance with MS policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
* Managing the Certificates event investigation process and conduct Safety Investigations when required.
* Facilitating the Safety Review Board and the Nominated Person Safety Action Groups (SAGs).
* Providing detailed reports and analysis of identified or reported safety issues or trends as required for the Nominated Persons Safety Action Groups and Accountable Manager(s).
* Management of the Safety reports assessing for trends, Elevated Events, and mandatory occurrence reports (MORs).
* Monitoring and reporting on safety targets for all areas of operation and ensure that appropriate safety performance improvement plans are being implemented across the MRO.
* Implementing and overseeing compliance monitoring with all relevant regulation, requirements, policies, and procedures for UK activities.
* Identifying risk and risk ownership through internal auditing.
* Verifying follow-up actions for effectiveness of implemented improvements. Serve as the focal point for Compliance-related issues and the dissemination of information with associated feedback and tracking.
* Providing compliance oversight of contracted and subcontracted suppliers.
* Planning and controlling the audit cycle within the UK MRO Certificates to meet regulatory and client requirements and meet UK KPIs.
* The formulation and control of compliance alert circulars.
* The preparation of information for the quarterly SAGs for duty holders in engineering (Pt 145, Pt CAMO and Pt 21J, Part 147) disciplines.
* Ensuring the provision of high-quality training in auditing skills, investigation, and data analysis for safety leadership and frontline employees.
* Providing support and leadership, by example, to UK personnel and their managers.
* Overseeing the Emergency Response planning to ensure the highest preparedness standards within the UK.
* Providing cover for the UK Operations Safety and Compliance Manager.
* Overseeing the collection, analysis, and reporting of trends reported through Audit findings, audit observations, Behaviour reports, Injury Reports, Air Safety Reports, Ground Safety Reports, and Maintenance Safety Reports.
* Management of the compliance risk picture through analysis of data, audit findings, and observations, including management walk rounds to develop a performance/risk auditing program.
Applicants should hold the following experience:
* Minimum 5 years of experience in Compliance within the aviation sector.
* Detailed knowledge/understanding of ISO, CAA, and EASA regulations.
* Proven experience in one or more of the following aviation areas:
o Aircraft engineering.
o Flight operations.
o Ground operations.
o Verification.
* Detailed understanding of Compliance requirements inclusive of:
o Auditing.
o Audit Planning.
o Management of Findings.
o Data Analysis.
* Detailed understanding of Aviation Management System requirements inclusive of:
o Hazard Identification.
o Risk assessment, Risk management.
o Development of behavioural analysis and data transfer.
o Event investigation.
o Management of Change.
o Continuous improvement.
* Managerial experience or leadership role with a willingness to develop skills further.
* Customer/client focus in aviation.
* Contract bid experience.
* Experience with subcontractor control processes.
Applicants should hold the following qualifications / certification:
* Understanding of the Quality Management System preferably with CQI/IRCA certification.
* Training in CAA/EASA regulation in air operations and continued airworthiness.
* Lead Auditor qualification for ISO 9001:2015.
* Incident/Accident investigation training and experience.
* Human Factors Training.
