About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Children’s Service Deputy Manager to support the management and delivery of high-quality care for children and young people. You will assist in overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and leading a team to provide a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the Service Manager in the effective running of the children’s service.
* Ensure high-quality care and support in line with Ofsted regulations and organisational policies.
* Supervise, support, and mentor a team of care professionals, ensuring best practices are upheld.
* Develop and implement individual care plans to meet the needs of children and young people.
* Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.
* Lead by example, promoting a culture of respect, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
* Manage staff rotas, ensuring adequate cover to maintain service quality.
* Participate in recruitment, training, and professional development of staff.
* Liaise with external agencies, families, and professionals to support children’s welfare.
* Handle any incidents, concerns, or complaints in line with policies and procedures.
Requirements
* Level 3 or above in Children’s Residential Care, Social Work, or a relevant qualification.
* Experience working with children and young people in a residential or social care setting.
* Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and relevant legislation.
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations effectively.
* A valid UK driving licence (preferred but not essential).
* Enhanced DBS check (required).
