Job Description We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Advisor to lead and manage commercial and government contracts across the Europe South West region, including the UK, Ireland, and Israel. This key role will oversee the sales, service, and purchasing operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory matters and providing high-level legal advice on contract management throughout their lifecycle. This is a 6 month FTC. We offer a hybrid working policy (candidates can be based out of our London or Hemel Hempstead offices). SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Draft, review and negotiate commercial and government contracts for sales, service and purchasing operations of the Europe South West business covering UK, Ireland, and Israel Contracts management (claims, amendments, terminations) and bid protests Handle compliance inquiries relating to anticorruption regulations, ethical business practices, data protection and other regulatory matters and manage due diligence for agents and distributors in the assigned market Support legal function in EMEA on matters relating to claims litigation SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO) : Responsible for all commercial agreements, including sales direct with customers and through representatives Review terms and provide risk analysis and appropriate risk reduction strategies in connection with public and civil tenders Support the preparation of bids and proposal. Lead the negotiation of contracts and sub-contracts Draft and negotiate other commercial contracts as needed (e.g., service agreements; teaming/consortium agreements; product loan and testing agreements; agency and distribution agreements; confidentiality agreements) Be the formal contractual interface with customers for contracts and agreements matters, including preparation of contract related communications, contract amendments, terminations and claims Participate in the development and maintenance of contract templates and ensure use of approved templates throughout the business. Participate in Smiths Group Data Protection network, act as Divisional Data Protection Champion Interface with outside counsel, as well as internal staff and corporate management. Participate in preparing and conducting training programs. Other duties may be assigned.
