The Role
As a Director, this role provides strategic leadership to the team, working closely with other Directors and Partners to lead and develop our go to market strategy while being accountable for the high quality delivery to our clients. It is a highly accountable leadership role that requires you to wear many hats, but you’ll be well supported by the rest of us.
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Leading the development of our growth strategy and developing high impact propositions to take to market
2. Building enduring sector relationships and becoming the go to person for our clients on relevant market opportunities
3. Collaborating closely with other KPMG capability and sector leads to build consensus on priority targets and activities
4. Senior leadership of complex client engagements, including the ability to operate effectively at Board level, providing robust insight to client problems
5. Overseeing the delivery of client deliverables, including having accountability for quality assurance and risk management
6. Being an inspirational leader; managing, coaching, mentoring and motivating your colleagues
7. Providing training, guidance and leadership to the junior team members
8. Having senior input into team headcount and recruitment decisions

For this opportunity, we’re looking for someone with significant leadership experience in Project, Programme and Portfolio (P3M), delivering complex transformation in challenging environments. Ideally you will have transitioned from a delivery, controls or functional PM role into consulting, providing strategic advice at C-Suite level.

16. Designing and enhancing Project, Programme or Portfolio controls
17. Designing, establishing and leading transformation management offices (TMO) or project management offices (PMO)
18. Leading major programme/ project maturity assessment and assurance
19. Troubled Project/Programme reviews and implementing recovery plans
20. A proven history of operating as an effective leader in a complex P3M organisation and/or consulting firm with, primarily built around the leadership of major complex Projects/Programmes and transformational change
21. Proven experience of management and leadership of multi-disciplinary consulting teams of between 5-20 consultants
22. Broad capability and experience across business development, delivery and line management
23. Specialist Project, Programme and/or Portfolio management expertise, with proven delivery and a passion for the future of the profession
24. Ideally one or more sector experience in Infrastructure, Transport, Aerospace, Defence, Industrial, Financial Services, Utilities or Manufacturing preferred
25. Demonstrable experience of managing and influencing senior-level stakeholders, having built and sustained key relationships
26. Excellent commercial awareness with strong experience of owning and managing client accounts – alongside ownership and management of significant bids and proposals
27. Management and leadership of multi-disciplinary teams
28. Passion, resilience, adaptability and energy to make a difference, both internally and externally
29. A foundation of excellent academics and/or demonstrable career progression to date
30. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
31. Relevant professional certification – e.g. APM ChPP/PPQ; MoP; MSP; PRINCE2
