This is a rotational post with duties being at Hull Royal Infirmary, the Women's and Children's Hospital, Castle Hill Hospital, the East Riding Hospital, Hornsea Cottage Hospital, and the Alfred Bean Hospital in Driffield. The hours are 8am-6pm over 4 shifts per week, including some weekend and bank holiday duties.
An opportunity has arisen for a full-time imaging assistant to join the forward-thinking ultrasound team of the Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. You will be working as part of a friendly team of dedicated and hardworking sonographers and support workers within the ultrasound department.
Please note that this advertised vacancy does not meet the UKVI eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa, and therefore HUTH would not be able to issue a Certificate of Sponsorship for this role.
Main duties of the job
The imaging assistant role is primarily to help the sonographers and radiologists in delivering a quality service for all users of the ultrasound department. The role includes aspects of patient care, communication, IT, and some portering duties. The successful candidate must be able to multi-task, work well within a team, and have a flexible approach to their working site and hours. The service is provided over 7 days, and the core opening hours of the department are between 8am to 6pm.
GCSE English and Maths are essential, along with previous employment in a similar environment/NHS/care setting. Previous experience of dealing with the general public is essential, along with good communication skills, the ability to work as an effective team member, and good organisational and keyboard skills.
