The team are seeking a Public Health Intelligence Team lead.
The postholder will manage the public health analyst team and work closely with the Director of Public Health, the Consultant in Public Health Intelligence and the wider Public Health Team.
The council operates a hybrid working policy with the expectation that post holders will be working in the office 2 days a week to support team development and collaborative working across the service.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a coordinated multi skilled corporate service to deliver the agreed outcomes for the public health intelligence team
Drive innovation, creative thinking and alternative ways of delivering outcomes in line with cross-Council and partnership objectives.
Work collaboratively with regional and national public health organisations to horizon scan, share good practice and benchmark local outcomes.
Be accountable for ensuring high quality and timely regulatory reporting, delivery of the Annual Public Health Report, delivery of the mandated healthcare public health advice service and delivery of joint strategic needs assessments and other statutory needs assessments. Provide and ensure strategic high quality management information, performance information and public health intelligence for Cambridgeshire County Council officers and councillors, and partners.
Deliver and ensure qualitative and quantitative interpretation of a wide range of data relevant to health and wellbeing, deploying expert epidemiological, public health and analytical skills to enable informed decision making.
Ensure that key local public health datasets are maintained with a high level of quality control.
Qualifications:
First degree or equivalent appropriate relevant demonstrable experience, relating to Public Health
Master’s degree relating to Public health or epidemiology or other relevant subject
Skills & experience:
Previous experience in a similar role
Expert skills in statistics and epidemiology and the ability to practically apply these skills to real life problems and issues across all relevant settings.
Knowledge:
Expert knowledge of information sources relevant to public health, including NHS information sources
Awareness of current national and regional public health policy, organisations and strategies
Up to date knowledge of governance, policies and quality assurance mechanisms relating to national and local public health and NHS data.
A thorough understanding of the environment in which local government, the ICB and key partnerships operate, including public health, local authority and NHS commissioning and delivery
Expert knowledge of public health practice and methods related to epidemiology, statistics and analytics
Expert knowledge of data and information management relevant disciplines, including information management systems and software.
