The growth and development of new and existing business in the area are paramount in this role. The generation of new business covers sales to all customers, OEMs, contractors, large end users, and includes major segments such as Factory Automation and Industrial Automation. We also support key growth products and programs, notably Controls and Software, Precision Fluid Control, and AFAG. The Area Sales Manager is responsible for achieving sales targets and growing the business throughout the territory via existing and new customers. The ASM will report to the UK & Ireland Sales Manager and will sell the complete Emerson portfolio of products, services, systems, and solutions.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
1. Manage the designated area to ensure good sales growth in line with the agreed plan, and take actions to improve performance, efficiency, and product portfolio development.
2. Develop and manage customer relationships to facilitate incremental sales growth; assist in negotiations, help bring key projects to fruition, and ensure strategic focus on initiatives as they are introduced and developed.
3. Follow up on sales leads and react accordingly.
4. Organize strategic sales plans for the territory, ensuring alignment with the broader UK, Ireland, and North Europe plans.
5. Provide monthly territory sales reports (verbal updates preferred) as detailed by the UK & Ireland Sales Manager. Ensure timely submission of any other required reports with relevant details.
6. Negotiate price increases as periodically required, working closely with the UK & Ireland Team and matrix reports.
7. Manage all sales legal requirements, ensuring customer compliance with trade rules, contractual obligations, and upholding Emerson's ethics policy.

For This Role, You Will Need:
1. An engineering degree or relevant experience/qualifications.
2. Relevant industry experience within the UK is desirable but not essential.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
4. A proactive, high-energy approach.
5. Willingness to work outside normal hours, including overnight stays, days away from home, and occasional overseas trips.
