Established in 1997 as the first manufacturer of sushi for the UK supermarket industry, Taiko has evolved into the most innovative manufacturer of Sushi, Food To Go, Prepared Meals, and Snacking products in the UK, supplying Waitrose, Tesco, and Sainsbury’s to name a few. Over the past 25 years Taiko has launched more first to market Sushi and Food to Go products than any other sushi manufacturer in the UK.
We are part of the Snowfox Group which includes the Taiko, YO! and Bento brands – we operate more than 1500 kiosks, 60 wholly owned restaurants, our grab-and-go sushi is available in over 3,700 locations, and we have 50 major retail partners. Our key markets are the USA, Canada, and the UK with additional geographic presence in Europe and Australia.
Position Summary:
The Supplier Auditor is responsible for assessing and evaluating the compliance, quality control, and safety standards of food manufacturing operations for our suppliers. The role ensures that food products meet regulatory standards, company specifications, and industry best practices. This includes auditing production processes, food safety procedures, and labeling to ensure all operations align with local and international standards, such as HACCP and SEDEX regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform regular and thorough audits of food manufacturing facilities to evaluate compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
2. Inspect production lines, raw materials, packaging processes, and final products to ensure conformity to established specifications.
3. Review operational records, batch production logs, and cleaning schedules for compliance.
4. Ensure compliance with local, national, and international food safety regulations (e.g., FDA, USDA, HACCP, FSMA).
5. Evaluate the implementation of food safety systems, including HACCP, GMP, and other food safety frameworks.
6. Inspect food safety plans and protocols to ensure proper hazard analysis, risk mitigation, and process controls.
7. Prepare detailed audit reports highlighting findings, non-conformities, and corrective actions.
8. Present audit results to senior management, highlighting potential risks, areas for improvement, and opportunities for efficiency.
9. Collaborate with production teams to identify areas of improvement in food safety, quality control, and process efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in food science, Food Safety, Quality Assurance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
2. Relevant certifications (e.g., HACCP, SQF, ISO 22000) preferred.
3. Strong understanding of food safety regulations and standards.
