Job Summary
Temporary for 6 months.
This post is seen as essential in terms of service delivery. The 3 towns locality team currently have 349 children and young people across the 3 main teams and CASST team. As a statutory service, we are required to provide a range of services and supports to vulnerable children and their families. Child protection is a key feature of the work we do, and currently we have 23 children on the register out of a total of 93 across NAHSCP. This higher level of registration, and the lack of sufficient CP trained workers, causes additional worries. The provision of this vacancy is seen as essential in supporting not only the child, but the wider staff group's needs.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children or protected adults.
Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to confirmation of employment being made by North Ayrshire Council. Please note, successful candidates will be expected to meet the cost of the relevant PVG check (£59 or £18), which will be deducted in instalments from your wages following commencement of employment.
