Michael Page is currently recruiting for a leading Financial Services firm based in Central London, seeking a Financial Reporting Accountant to join them on a 9-month fixed-term basis to cover an interim requirement. This role offers an immediate start for the successful applicant.

Our client is based in Central London, with excellent transport links and a hybrid working model, allowing two days of remote work per week. Specialising in the Financial Services sector, they have a strong market reputation and are one of the largest Investors in London.
Description
As Financial Reporting Accountant, your main responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:
1. Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
2. Liaise with business and shared services colleagues for robust financial reporting.
3. Assist in the preparation of annual statutory accounts under UK GAAP, IFRS, and US GAAP.
4. Support the annual audit process, including financial statement preparation.
5. Prepare quarterly Board reports and other required financial documents.
6. Manage inter-company and third-party invoicing, ensuring timely collection of receipts.
7. Review, update, and reconcile the general ledger for assigned legal entities.
8. Maintain and enhance the financial control framework, including process documentation.
9. Assist in developing accounting policies, procedures, and internal guidance.
10. Contribute to process improvement projects related to reporting and controls.
11. Analyse data and challenge inconsistencies to ensure data is robust and variances are understood and explained.
12. Work closely with the internal Accounting team, reporting into the Finance Director.
Profile
1. Degree in a relevant field and a professional accounting qualification (or part-qualified - ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
2. Strong experience in financial reporting under UK GAAP, IFRS (including IFRS 16, 15, and 9), and US GAAP.
3. Knowledge of FRS 101 & 102, financial statement preparation, consolidation, and implementation of new standards.
4. Experience in maintaining control frameworks and documenting controls.
5. Background in external and internal audits, including liaising with stakeholders to ensure timely completion.
6. Strong analytical skills to assess data, identify inconsistencies, and explain variances.
7. Excellent communication skills for explaining technical accounting issues clearly, both verbally and in writing.
8. Proficient in Excel and other office technologies.
Job Offer
