You will work closely with Animators, Game Producers, and the Art Director to craft captivating illustrations that enhance gameplay and engage players, all while ensuring that your work seamlessly integrates into our production pipeline. Your role with us:
As a Game Illustrator, you will be responsible for:
* Conceptualization and Design: Create high-quality illustrations for game assets, including characters, backgrounds, symbols, and UI elements, from the initial concept through to the final artwork.
* Collaboration: Work closely with the Animators, the Art Director and other team members to ensure visual consistency and alignment with the game’s vision.
* Production Pipeline: Integrate your work efficiently into the production pipeline, understanding the technical requirements and making sure your PSD files are efficiently prepared for a seamless handover to the Animation Department.
* Iteration and Feedback: Receive and implement feedback from the Art Director and stakeholders, making necessary revisions to meet creative standards.
* Quality Control: Ensure all visual assets adhere to the highest quality standards and are delivered on time.
* Innovation: Contribute to the continuous improvement of the visual style of our games, staying up-to-date with industry trends and technologies.
What you will bring:
* Experience: Extensive professional experience in illustration, preferably in a studio environment or as part of a team.
* Artistic Skills: Exceptional illustration skills with a strong portfolio showcasing your ability to create detailed and polished game assets, backgrounds and/or characters.
* Fundamentals: Deep understanding of art fundamentals, including anatomy, composition, colour theory, and lighting.
* Software Proficiency: Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Photoshop; experience with other industry-standard tools like Illustrator, After Effects, and Spine2D is a plus.
* Pipeline Experience: Proven experience working within a game development production pipeline, including knowledge of asset creation, optimization, and implementation.
* Adaptability: Ability to work across various art styles if necessary, from realistic to stylized, and adapt to the needs of the project.
Bonus points if you also have:
* Mobile game experience and familiarity are advantageous.
* Previous studio experience is a huge plus.
* Proficient with Google Suite (Drive, Spreadsheets, Docs), Slack & Jira.
