Role Details Salary: Dependent on experience (starting from £15 per hour) Location: Stoke Newington Hours: Part-time: 5:00 AM – 9:00 AM Full-time: 5:00 AM – 1:00 PM Shifts: Monday to Friday (weekend work dependant) Reports to: Head Baker Employed by: Luminary Bakery Ltd Applications: Accepted on a rolling basis Start date: ASAP Job Purpose To produce fresh, high-quality pastries and baked goods for our cafés and corporate customers daily. Key Responsibilities Prepare and produce high-quality pastries for cafés and corporate orders, ensuring they meet specifications. Follow and help develop recipes, maintaining high product quality standards. Ensure allergen and recipe data are up to date. Make recommendations for recipe and product improvements (e.g., gluten-free or vegan options). Track stock levels and assist with ordering ingredients as needed. Manage high-volume production while maintaining quality. Assist in meeting production deadlines. Ensure all products leaving the bakery meet the highest quality standards. Maintain food hygiene and safety standards as per company policy. Perform daily checks of the bakery premises and assist with organising the workspace. Log deliveries and participate in cleaning and sanitising kitchen equipment. Person Specification Essential Strong understanding of allergens and quality risks. Some experience working in a commercial kitchen. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills. Ability to follow and maintain recipes, processes, and quality standards. Passion for pastry, with a drive to learn and adapt. Flexible availability to work across Monday to Sunday. Full, valid UK working visa. Desirable Professional baking qualifications (preferred but not essential) Skilled in laminating and rolling pastries (e.g., croissants, pain au chocolat). Previous experience as a Pastry Chef, including proofing and viennoiserie.
