Do you have an interest in renewable energy? Do you have experience in site traffic management? If the answer is yes, we are looking for a new Weighbridge Operator to join our team at Craigellachie Biomass combined heat and power plant.
What will you be doing?
Reporting to the Fuel Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing and monitoring the operation of the weighbridge system and the inward and outward lorry traffic.
You will ensure that the procedures for receiving fuel onto site are followed and that accurate tracking is carried out and always current.
Summary of Responsibilities:
* Manning of the weighbridge office and fuel reception facility.
* Confirm drivers know where and how to deliver their load.
* Ensuring that vehicle recording and data capture for fuel deliveries is accurately carried out.
* Maintain a professional, polite and appropriate interface with lorry drivers.
* Check delivery drivers have the necessary qualifications, have been inducted for site, have the necessary PPE and are aware of Craigellachie Biomass Plant (CBP) operational rules.
* Manage vehicles on-site through close communication with the control room and the owners logistics department.
* Carry out sampling tests on the sample as prescribed. Assess visual suitability of fuel being delivered.
* Manage the sample storage and cataloguing, liaising with Suppliers representatives.
* Advise drivers and/or reject road deliveries that violate legal weight restrictions.
* Alert Fuel Supervisor in the case of out-of-spec fuel on the weighbridge and in the event of excess weight of delivery.
* Be the single point of contact for delivery drivers if there are any issues on site.
* Carry out general duties as directed including maintenance personnel support and basic plant checks and maintenance.
Skills and knowledge required to succeed:
* ONC/ City and Guilds/ NVQ level 3 in a craft skill, with a good level of practical Operational/Maintenance experience (Qualifications below this may be acceptable if accompanied by suitable experience).
* A good understanding of HSE aspects.
* Previous experience in weighbridge operations and traffic management.
* Good verbal/written communication skills in English.
* Good interpersonal skills, self-motivated, flexible and committed attitude.
* Record keeping and good working knowledge of MS OFFICE 365 and Excel.
* Full UK Driving License.
