This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance work across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station's vast network of rooms.
The role
As a Plant, Tool and Equipment Technician, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Being part of the MEH Alliance working on Hinkley Point C is a chance to be involved in a major project with national significance. You will be joining a new team helping to effectively repair and manage on site owned plant tools and equipment for the MEH Alliance.
Day-to-day, you'll You will be responsible for overseeing and completing reactive and planned maintenance for all the plant, tools and equipment (PTE) procured by the MEH Alliance on the HPC project.
* To effectively repair and manage on site owned plant tools and equipment for the MEH Alliance.
* To offer familiarisation to teams requiring the use of PTE in their section and to ensure the correct use and standard is maintained at all times.
* Provide feedback on Improvements to where PTE can be better managed throughout the project and offer advise on better products if clear effective improvement can be found
* This position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools, or standing for extended periods of time.
This role is full time, 38 hours per week, and is based on site at Hinkley Point C.
Essential experience of the Plant, Tool and Equipment Technician
* Experience maintaining small tools and plant including repair.
* Electrical and mechanical knowledge for larger plant items.
* Understanding of LOLER and PUWER regulations.
* Understanding of LEV, Welding and general calibration data and procedures for survey equipment.
* Knowledge of IT systems.
Qualifications for the Plant, Tool and Equipment Technician
* NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Plant Maintenance
* CCNSG safety passport
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
