MWH Treatment are looking to strengthen our Legal and Risk Team with a Risk Mitigation Lead based at Falmer with hybrid working available. At MWH Treatment we believe that people matter. This is the ideal time to review, refresh, upgrade and implement changes to the way MWH Treatment manages risk. The Head of Risk will design, implement and maintain a risk management framework; one that is commensurate with an organisation of MWH Treatment size and turnover. Key responsibilities: 1. Create a risk management strategy to be implemented at all levels of the organisation. 2. Develop and upkeep a corporate/framework risk register. 3. Produce and update project risk registers in PIM, CMDP’s risk management software, ensuring that users and stakeholders have full confidence in data in PIM. 4. Facilitate risk workshops to identify, evaluate and develop responses for the project and framework risk registers. 5. Develop timely, relevant and clear risk reports, including KRIs, for CMDP, Costain, MWH Treatment and Southern Water management. 6. Design and implement assurance activities to demonstrate effective management and mitigation of risk at the framework and project levels. Key Objectives: 1. Framework risk register 2. Project risk registers 3. Monthly risk reports for all projects 4. Periodic, possibly quarterly, risk reports for CMDP’s Senior Leadership Team. 5. Ongoing assurance to SLT that the risk management framework is operating as designed. About You Essential You will be degree level qualified with proven experience of working in a complex risk management project environment. As an individual you will have strong analytical and the ability to produce easy to read insight across a range of stakeholders. The ability to write and present compelling documents is also essential. You will have experience working in a regulatory environment and leading business improvement, it’s also required you have a track record of assessing potential disruptors to mitigate risk. You will have experience of operating at senior leader level holding strong leadership, communication and negotiation skills. As an indivdual you will be results, outcome and process focused with the ability to look for ways of improving results and process’. Its essential you understand risk management principles such as frameworks, efficiency gain and protocols. You will have an in depth understanding of risk management (PACED), commercial assurance, engineering contract management, different contract forms and BCP regulatory compliance. The ability to distinguish between risk appetite, tolerance and capacity is required, as is explaining how risk management supports agility and innovation. You must also understand risk management standards including ISO 31000. Beneficial It would be beneficial to have an understanding of NWG business plan, AMP8 delivery programme and sector trends. Experience of using a Risk Management Information System (RMIS) would be useful. A track record of using NEC suite of contracts would be great, as would having multi-disciplinary experience. An understanding of the role of internal audit and assurance models such as the Three Lines of Defence model would be beneficial to the role. It would be useful for the role holder to hold an understanding of control effectiveness techniques. About Us MWH Treatment is an integrated design and build provider working in the water sector.
