A recent internal change has created a new opportunity for an Assistant Financial Controller to report into the Financial Controller who will shortly be taking on a different role from Q2 next year This opportunity therefore provides definite scope for progression and lots of exposure to different aspects of the finance department. The new recruit will assist with running all the day to day accounting activities including management of a small team. Your key responsibilities will be: Preparing the monthly management accounts pack Supervising the month end close process Assisting with budgeting and forecasting Balance sheet reconciliations Preparing the year end accounts Assisting with the annual audit Monthly payroll, VAT returns, PAYE etc. Stock reconciliation and valuation Ad hoc reporting and analysis of KPI’s The ideal candidate for this vacancy would preferably be a CIMA / ACCA studier with good all round knowledge of an SME finance department. Excellent Excel skills will be imperative and a willingness to utilise business intelligence tools and cloud based systems would be useful as the company has made a significant investment in IT recently.
