To improve the educational outcomes and life chances of children, young people and their families in Leicestershire by:
* Supervising a team of multi-disciplinary staff
* Leading practice development in the locality
* Understanding the needs of children, young people and families at a locality level and responding to these in innovative ways, using a partnership approach
About the Role
* To work with the Inclusion Service Manager to implement changes in response to local, regional and national drivers, and statutory responsibility where required
* To ensure that the voices of children, young people and their families are heard and are used to help shape service delivery relating to families so that records are up-to-date and concise.
* To manage risk of disengagement around education and to show an understanding of, and commitment to, statutory duties set by the DfE, policies and procedures, ensuring that risk management processes are adhered to.
* To develop and deliver innovative interventions designed to enable children and young people to access good quality education including assessment, delivery and review of educational outcomes.
* To develop and deliver innovative interventions designed to assist young people in managing their emotional and physical health and to support a reduction in the likelihood of disengagement from education by children and young people.
* To establish and maintain effective collaborative arrangements with schools and partnership agencies, to represent the Education and Inclusion Service, and to facilitate meetings that are relevant to the service area across the County.
* To ensure commissioned arrangements around service delivery are fulfilled.
* To line manage and support staff which includes recruitment, supervision, training, performance and development reviews, attendance management and disciplinary processes.
* To lead on the management of referrals, ensuring they are prioritised and appropriately allocated according to need, and that children, young people and families are offered the right service at the right time, with measurable outcomes.
* To have an oversight of all high-risk cases and to contribute to the risk management plans.
* To work with children, young people and their networks to reinforce the responsibilities for statutory education.
* To keep up to date with relevant educational issues, legislation, research, guidance and standards.
* To lead a team to meet local performance targets in line with the national careers and educational standards in line with OFSTED.
An enhanced DBS check is required for this post.
About You
To apply for this post, you must:
* Have a Level 4 qualification in a relevant subject, e.g. NVQ4 childcare, youth justice, social work qualification, teaching qualification, child nursing qualification.
OR
Have meaningful, demonstrable and relevant knowledge and experience evidenced against the headings below including significant experience of working within children and family services in a multi-agency environment.
* Evidence of continuing professional development including management/supervisory skills/leadership.
* Experience of supporting staff and teams to maintain, develop and improve outcomes for children, young people and families, including case supervision and management oversight.
* Experience of working within children and education services.
* Knowledge of relevant theoretical, practical, and procedural approaches that help improve the lives of children and young people, and demonstrate an improvement in their outcomes.
* Demonstrate the ability to influence and shape the environment in which you operate to achieve high-quality outcomes for the children and families of Leicestershire.
* Must have a full valid driving licence and unrestricted use of a car and relevant insurances.
