We have a fantastic opportunity for a Category Manager to join our clients Procurement department in Staffordshire, to manage a set of categories on a global basis.
Reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager, this leadership role is based in the corporate head office with control of a c£330m spend and a team of Senior Buyers and Buyers within non-production procurement. The role focuses on complex and priority categories, ensuring the supply base can meet business unit and regional expectations. Responsibilities include project managing supplier performance, cost, risk, the team, and international stakeholders. There is an opportunity for growth through an internal development program, as well as international travel for supplier assessments due to expansion programs with suppliers and the building of new manufacturing and distribution sites in the USA.
What we are looking for: An experienced Category Manager, preferably CIPS Qualified, who has handled large expenditures with global exposure. Manufacturing industry experience is preferred but not essential, as long as you have exposure to a fast-paced product/service within a corporate head office environment.
The company offers a salary of c£70-80k DOE, with a good benefits package including car allowance, bonus, 33 days holiday, pension, and health care program. Working hours are 8:30-5 Monday to Thursday and 8:30-4 on Friday, with flexibility of 1.5 hours each way to suit home life. Relocation packages are available for those interested in moving to the West Midlands area.
