Senior Placements Commissioning Officer
We are working in partnership with a Local Authority in the Kingston area who are looking to appoint a Senior Placements Commissioning Officer to work within their Specialist Children Services.
Contract - 3-6 Month agency contract with a view to being extended on an ongoing basis.
Working Hours - Full time position. (36 hours per week)
Location - Kingston, KT1. (Hybrid working)
Rate of Pay - £27 - £35 per hour. (negotiable on experience)
As Senior Placements Commissioning Officer you will be responsible for acting as a single point of access for commissioning placements.
Contribute to the delivery of strategic commissioning intentions identified as part of the Commissioning Service and its partners.
Deliver delegated activities or products in relation to commissioning, contract management, policy and planning activity as identified.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead Placement Commissioning: Act as the primary authority for all placement commissioning activities, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy and regulatory standards.
2. Drive Strategic Goals: Shape and advance commissioning plans and initiatives in collaboration with partners.
3. Oversee Contracts and Policies: Manage contracts, policy development, and planning to ensure services meet compliance and quality standards.
4. Quality Assurance: Conduct evaluations and inspections to ensure regulatory compliance and high service standards.
5. Data & Contract Management: Utilise contract management systems to gather and analyse data for informed decision-making.
6. Multi-Agency Coordination: Cultivate partnerships across providers and stakeholders, managing complex projects and reporting.
7. Data Reporting: Lead data collection and provide strategic monthly and annual reports to support organisational objectives.
8. Adaptable Leadership: Remain flexible in addressing emergent needs and shifting priorities within the role.
Experience and Skills Required:
1. In-depth knowledge of legal and regulatory frameworks related to procurement and commissioning, with specific expertise in placement commissioning.
2. Strong understanding of Government and European legislation and initiatives related to procurement and commissioning, particularly those impacting children's services.
3. Familiarity with relevant Care Quality Commission policies and frameworks.
4. Demonstrated leadership experience in commissioning and contract management, with a proven track record of managing complex, multi-agency projects to successful outcomes.
