Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Merseyrail's Legal and Compliance Team as a Legal and Compliance Support Officer on a 12 month fixed term contract, working primarily in data protection. You will join a small, agile team that advises on a wide range of legal and compliance issues.
This role will be suited to an individual with data protection experience and a can-do attitude who is looking to gain further experience in this sector.

Key Responsibilities
* Supporting the Data Protection Manager with the implementation of annual data protection standards, set by our Data Protection Officer.
* Attendance at monthly GDPR Group Meetings.
* Completing reports on GDPR statistics to internal and external boards.
* Tender scoring for new suppliers.
* Data protection impact assessments.
* Assisting with contract reviews.
* Data breach management.
* Assisting with the delivery of the annual Data Protection training programme.
* Assisting with the review of internal data protection policies.
* Reviews of personal data processes.
* Responding to data subject access requests.
* General business support to the legal and compliance team.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Good written and oral communication skills.
* Good time management and organisational skills.
* Good IT skills (MS Office) including Visio where possible.
* The ability to work proactively, alone and as part of a team.
* The ability to take responsibility and use their initiative to assist the team where appropriate.
* The ability to manage competing priorities with a flexible attitude.
* Experience in a GDPR practitioner environment.
