Teaching Personnel is looking for an educator to join our fantastic team within a dynamic provision for children and young people aged 7-19 with Autism and related communication and social needs.
The purpose of the Teaching Assistant is to support the children with their learning and general wellbeing to ensure every child has the best opportunity to reach their full potential in a caring and safe environment. Where necessary this may include supporting with care needs from time to time as well as positive behaviour management adopting a tailored approach to the individual child.
Responsibilities:
1. Build supportive relationships to help pupils feel safe and engage in learning.
2. Promote independence, personal growth, and high standards of behaviour.
3. Assist in delivering challenging, differentiated educational activities to help pupils succeed.
4. Support the Class Teacher in day-to-day classroom operations.
5. Contribute to the smooth running of the school and foster pupils’ development.
6. Work effectively within a multi-professional team and complete necessary documentation.
The successful Educator will have the following:
1. GCSE Maths and English Level 2/C or above.
2. Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
3. Experience supporting SEN pupils (desirable).
4. Commitment to putting the child first and fostering independence.
5. Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning (desirable).
6. At least one year’s experience as a Level 2 TA (desirable).
