The Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Campus Operations Director to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, managing, and overseeing all operational aspects of campus programs and events in Birmingham, ensuring an engaging, inclusive, and impactful environment for all participants. This role involves strategic planning, resource management, and coordination of campus-wide initiatives to support student development, well-being, and community engagement. The Director will be expected to work closely with campus staff, volunteers, student leaders, and external stakeholders to implement effective programs that align with the institution's mission and goals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, organise, and execute campus programs to meet student and community needs.
* Develop and manage annual program calendars aligned with campus priorities.
* Create and manage program budgets, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
* Secure venues, facilities, and equipment for events, ensuring all logistical needs are met.
* Recruit, train, and manage volunteers and part-time staff.
* Align programs with strategic goals to enhance the student experience.
* Build relationships with local businesses, community organisations, and campus partners.
* Implement operational protocols for events, ensuring safety and compliance.
* Monitor and improve program quality using feedback and data.
* Promote campus programs through digital platforms and social media.
* Report on program outcomes, financials, and resource utilisation to senior leadership.
The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following qualifications and skills:
* Proven experience in event management or campus operations.
* Strong organisational and project management skills.
* Ability to create and manage budgets within financial constraints.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Experience managing logistics for large-scale events.
* Proactive problem solver with attention to detail.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred/Desirable:
* A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (preferred but not required).
* Experience working with diverse student populations and fostering an inclusive campus environment
Additional Information:
* This role includes working on Saturdays, with a day off during the week, including Sunday.
* One work-from-home (WFH) day per week is also included.
