Our large government defence client is currently looking to add a Safety and Environmental Manager to their team with experience in delivery OME safety and environmental artefacts.
Specialisms Required
* Defence Safety Management and Environmental Protection Planning.
* Ordnance, Munitions & Explosives (OME) Safety Management.
* Defence Regulations (DOSR).
* Through Life Safety Management.
* Defence Safety Management Systems.
* Safety Case Management and Reporting.
* Safety Legislation, Regulation, Conventions and defence policy.
* Hazard Log Management.
* Compliance Management.
Responsibilities
* Act as a controlling mind in advising Senior Safety accountable and responsible personnel on the delivery of safety programmes and artefacts.
* Deliver against the overarching programme and established safety management plan.
* Evolve and advise the safety programme to de-risk delivery and capitalise on opportunities.
* Work for assigned delivery teams to produce safety and environmental artefacts to time and quality requirements.
* Advise the delivery team to ensure the programme will deliver artefacts to demonstrate that policy, legislation, and defence regulation have been met and that assets are demonstrably safe.
* Be the delivery team focal point, representing the team at required safety engagements, including regulatory interface, and brief up and down.
* Be responsible for the day-to-day activity, delivering against agreed activity and tasks.
Essential Skills
* Working within the DE&S ITS-SED ASEP resource augmentation team, deployed within the Weapons Domain.
* Practitioner level experience of DE&S safety management systems and processes (POSMS).
* Experience in compiling safety case evidence, authoring safety case reports, and hazard logs.
* Experienced in OME Safety.
* Practitioner level experience of Safety and Environmental Management Plans.
* Safety Case / A Safety Case Report.
* Hazard Logs.
* Hazard identification and assessment.
* Operation of safety review meetings.
Desirable Skills
* eCassandra.
* Working with WOC.
* Fault and Event Tree (FTA / ETA).
* BowTie assessment.
* Safety arguments (CAE / GSN).
* Knowledge of applicable legislation, regulation and standards and defence policy.
* ASPIRE.
* ASSERT.
