Aquatics and Leisure provides a number of facilities including a gym, pools, water parks and a hydrotherapy and rehabilitation centre to the residents of the Penrith Local Government Area. About the role The Aquatic Technical Support will oversee the daily operations of all Reticulated Water Systems, plant room checks and technical procedures across Council facilities. The role will be responsible for accurate and timely testing, plant room checks and inspections, repairs and preventative maintenance measure to ensure a healthy, safe and aesthetic environment. Key components will include water testing, water chemistry, water balance and treatment of commercial public swimming assets. This is a temporary full time opportunity up to October 2025 and is vital to the day-to-day operations within the department, reviewing technical procedures and developing and delivering induction and training for the various reticulated water systems across Council facilities. Essential criteria Qualification in Plumbing, restricted Electrical Licence, or related field Demonstrated experience in fault finding and solution focused in mechanical systems Demonstrate experience in water pumping valve systems, mechanical, electrical and process control systems as well as remote data capture systems. NSW Drivers Licence WHS Induction Card Current First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain) A valid NSW Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain) Desirable Criteria Aquatic Technical Operations, Pool Operations Certificate Experience in commercial plumbing, drainage systems & potable water systems Salary: The salary for this position will be negotiated commensurate with the skills, qualification and experience of the preferred applicant.
