Our Multi user transport centre in Doncaster keeps the Wincanton Group Transport network moving! An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us as a Transport Administrator on our Howdens Contract on the Doncaster site. Working as part of a team, you will be responsible for the planning and coordinating our drivers to meet the demands of the business.
You will manage and plan Howdens next day deliveries, debrief drivers when they arrive back to depot, and complete general administrative tasks while delivering to Wincanton's high-level service standards.
By building close working relationships with the drivers, you will ensure that Wincanton fleet utilisation is always maximised.
40 hours per week Monday to Friday from 11 am to 7 pm.
Salary: £25,000
Key Responsibilities
* Administer the movement of vehicles (and associated activity) received and despatched from the site in a timely, safe, and accurate manner, in line with the agreed service strategy to the JS store network.
* Drive backhaul volume through the fleet by collaborating with the wider network.
* Manage customer relationships, ensuring good communication, and addressing issues quickly and appropriately. Suggest improvements and work with the Customers team to maximise efficiency.
* Undertake all activities in line with the KPI requirements/service agreements for that area.
* Help develop a culture of continuous improvement to drive best-in-class activity and operational excellence.
* Be accountable for personal Health and Safety practices.
* Ensure compliance with Wincanton Health and Safety policy and procedures at all times.
* Follow any customer-specific health and safety requirements where appropriate.
* Maintain accurate records management.
What will you bring?
* Experience in a transport or logistics environment as a transport administrator is highly valued but not essential.
* Administrative experience is essential.
* Previous experience with Transport Management systems is advantageous.
* Preferred knowledge of relevant driver legislation.
* Excellent administration skills.
* Attention to detail to ensure accurate records are maintained.
* Ability to work under strict timescales and on your own initiative.
* IT literacy, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
* Team player, self-motivated, flexible, and confident.
