Location : Darlington Borough Council Pay Rate : £28.96 Team: Safeguarding and Assessment Team Role : Full Time Darlington Borough Council's Safeguarding and Assessment Team is seeking a dedicated and experienced Children's Social Worker. We are committed to protecting children from harm and providing high-quality support to families facing challenges. About the Role and Responsibilities: Conducting Comprehensive Assessments: Carry out thorough assessments of children and families, identifying their needs and risks, to inform decisions about the level of support required. Developing Care Plans: Develop and implement individualised care plans to ensure the safety and well-being of children, tailoring interventions to meet specific needs. Safeguarding Children: Take proactive steps to protect children from harm, ensuring timely and effective interventions when risks are identified. Working with Families: Engage with families, building trust and rapport to support positive change and promote family resilience. Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work closely with other agencies, such as schools, health services, and the police, to deliver effective and coordinated support. Maintaining Accurate Records: Maintain accurate records and documentation, adhering to relevant legislation and guidelines. Advocating for Children: Represent the needs of children and families, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights are protected. Contributing to Team Development: Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the team's service delivery, including participation in relevant training and initiatives.Key Requirements: Qualified Social Worker (DipSW, CQSW, BA Hons in Social Work, or equivalent). Social Care England registration. Updated DBS check. Experience working within a Children's Social Care service, particularly in an assessment or safeguarding role. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing demands.
