To provide practical support to consultant-led clinical triage and support for the development of an Haematology Straight-To-Test pathway for suspected cancer referrals: To coordinate patients referred on the suspected cancer pathway through their initial contacts, diagnostics and consultant-led appointments in order to arrive at an early diagnosis to confirm or exclude cancer, in line with the 28-day faster diagnosis standard. To communicate effectively with patients within 2 days of referral the pathway / protocol, to identify any specific needs for access and mitigate for potential issues at an early stage. To contribute to the workstreams related to audit and development of the EPR-digitised pathway, ensuring triage data is captured and stored as clinical notes on EPR. To lead and improve the processes around patient feedback to ensure the pathway pilot continues to refine the STT pathway during pilot duration. To audit and improve the quality of referral information under supervision from the Haematology Cancer Lead clinician, refining the information received from primary, and local diagnostic routes are explored as appropriate for patients who do not meet the basic clinical criteria for referral.
