Rural Property Solicitor (2– 5 years PQE) – Inverness
£65K - £75K+ (DOE) + Excellent Benefits Package.
Top tier firm with a network of offices throughout Scotland has an exciting opportunity for a 2 – 5 years PQE Solicitor to join their Rural Business practice based Inverness.
The Rural Business sector is a vibrant and important part of the Scottish economy that is constantly changing and requires solicitors that can adapt to clients’ needs and expectations. The sector encompasses not only traditional land uses and activities but wide-ranging commercial interests requiring commercially minded and innovative advisers.
Our client is recognised as an ambitious and market leading firm acting for estates, farming and rural businesses, community bodies, lenders, funders, developers and public sector organisations across Scotland.
The firm have the largest dedicated team in this sector offering not only market leading legal but also first rate strategic and commercial advice.
Geographically, Highlands now presents some of the most interesting and varied Real Estate work in Scotland with the emergence of natural capital as a driver of land use and the Inverness & Cromarty Firth Green Freeport driving new investment and focus in the commercial and rural sectors.
Our client is seeking an individual with ambition and passion to work within the rural sector and provide a supportive team and an opportunity to develop a successful rewarding career in rural property.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to experience a wide range of work as follows:
* Purchase and sale of estates, farms, forestry and other rural land.
* Crofting – transaction work and general crofting law advice in both contentious and non-contentious situations, for both crofters and crofting landlords.
* Providing advice to landowners on rural development including residential, renewables including onshore wind, battery storage, solar and related infrastructure projects), natural capital (including the Woodland and Peatland Carbon Codes and other emerging areas) telecommunications and quarrying.
* Ongoing management legal advice to estates and rural businesses of all sizes including sales of bare land, sales of residential properties, and advising on issues such as land reform, trustee/partnership conveyancing, creation of title conditions.
* Advising on matters relating to agricultural holdings in both contentious and non-contentious situations, including the creation, termination and variation of agricultural tenancies, fixed equipment obligations, the pre-emptive right to buy and the new relinquishment and assignation procedure.
* Purchase, sale, letting and management of sporting interests including salmon fishings, grouse moors and deer forests.
* Completion of voluntary registration projects for some of the most interesting and challenging titles in Scotland for some great clients.
